As promised (if a couple of weeks later than expected), RUINED BY RUMOR is now available in paperback. You can find it here: RUINED BY RUMOR*

If you know any regency romance fans who love reading but have never made the switch to e-books, I hope you’ll consider recommending RUINED BY RUMOR to them, since Carina Press will be using the sales figures from this pilot program to determine whether they bring out more regency titles in print.

*Don’t miss Amazon’s animation that lets readers flip to the back cover of the book. Isn’t it cool?

Why I’m Humming The Beatles’ “Paperback Writer”….

by on Apr.25, 2014, under Author news

I’m so excited–I just learned from my publisher that my first regency, Ruined by Rumor, is going to be available in print! The book will go on sale June 2nd as a trade paperback. If you know any regency romance fans who prefer traditional paperbacks to e-books, please spread the word. The more successful the format is, the more likely Carina Press will be to offer more regencies in print.

I’ll post a link to the paperback edition as soon as it goes up on Amazon.

Italian translation!

by on Jun.08, 2013, under Author news, Bookshelf

I just learned yesterday that Ruined by Rumor has been translated into an Italian edition, called Scandali e Altri Rimedi (Scandals and Other Remedies*). One of the tags is “matrimonio riparatore,” which is apparently Italian for “shotgun wedding.”

Click here to see the Italian edition. I love the cover!

*P.S. – I recently learned that a better English translation might be “Scandals and Other Drugs.” Apologies to my Italian friends for knowing so little about their very musical language.

Undertaker’s Mutes (and a little Lord of Secrets news)

by on Feb.19, 2013, under Uncategorized

An undertaker's mute

The undertaker’s mute was a hired mourner who lent an appropriately gloomy air to funeral proceedings.

Today I’m at Romancing the Past, discussing the curious 19th century occupation of undertaker’s mute.

Also, if you’re one of NetGalley’s “professional readers,” my upcoming release Lord of Secrets is now available for review on the NetGalley site. Click here to request an advance copy.

(If you’re not a professional reader, you can still pre-order Lord of Secrets here.)

Ex Libris

by on Jun.24, 2012, under Reviews

On Friday, I posted about the review of Ruined by Rumor on Book Lovers Inc. That review was written by Stella, and her home blog is called Ex Libris. I hope you’ll check her blog out here–not just to see how pretty her review of my own personal book looks on her site (and it does! Her rating system even calls the book “Novellus Superbus!”) but because all Stella’s reviews are thoughtful and informative.

Just click the blog name above to jump to the Ex Libris site, or click anywhere in this sentence. Thanks again for the insights you provide to authors and readers, Stella!

Book Lovers Inc. review

by on Jun.22, 2012, under Reviews

Ruined by Rumor received 4.5 stars in a charming and thoughtful review on the Book Lovers Inc. site today.  “Despite the humour and wittiness Ruined by Rumor was an angsty Regency romance of the best kind: the type where the reader is constantly biting their nails and having trouble swallowing as they are too anxious to see how the hero and heroine will finally find their way to each other.”  The reviewer, Stella, even included a link to my Pinterest board.  Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, Stella!
